If you've never heard of achacha, you're not alone — but that's about to change. This small, golden-orange fruit from the Bolivian Amazon is one of the most exciting tropical fruits to arrive in the United States, and at Bass Regenerative Farms, we're proud to grow it right here in Florida.

What Is Achacha?

Achacha (Garcinia humilis) is a tropical fruit native to the Beni region of Bolivia, where it has been enjoyed for centuries. It belongs to the same family as mangosteen and shares a similar flavor profile — sweet, tangy, and refreshingly juicy, often compared to lychee with a hint of citrus.

The fruit is small — about the size of a large egg — with a tough, leathery orange-yellow rind that protects a soft, translucent white flesh inside. At the center is a seed, similar to a lychee.

What Does Achacha Taste Like?

The flavor is truly unique: bright and tropical, with a sweet-tart balance that makes it incredibly refreshing. Think of a lychee crossed with a passion fruit, with a clean finish that leaves you wanting more. The flesh is juicy and smooth, making it perfect for eating fresh on a hot day.

Where Does Our Achacha Come From?

At Bass Regenerative Farms, our achacha trees are grown using regenerative farming practices in Florida's subtropical climate — one of the few places in the continental US where this fruit can thrive. We focus on soil health, biodiversity, and sustainable growing methods so that every fruit we harvest is as good for the land as it is for you.

Why Is Achacha So Special?

\nRare in the US: Achacha is still largely unknown outside of Bolivia and Australia, making it a genuinely exciting discovery for adventurous fruit lovers.
\nNutritious: Rich in antioxidants, vitamin C, and natural sugars for quick energy.
\nSustainably grown: Our regenerative practices mean you're supporting a healthier food system with every order.
\nIncredibly delicious: Once you try it, you'll understand why Bolivians have treasured this fruit for generations.
